Program Overview
AM I My Brother's Keeper ?
The Drug and Alcohol Recovery Program at My Brother's Keeper requires a commitment of at Eleast 4 to 6 months. depending on whether there is a referring agency or if he is enrolling voluntary. The program is divided into Four levels : Two phases .
Orientation - The first few days will involve an intake procedure that identifies pertinent physical, social and psychological/spiritual issues. An individual recovery plan will be developed for each participant that focuses on these areas of concern.
Induction - The next four months will involve the participant in individual and group counseling, classroom teaching, homework, Bible study, church attendance, Christian 12-step meetings, a house work program and physical activities. These events are designed to address the physical, social and psychological/spiritual aspects of the recovering addict.
Discharge & Aftercare - The final days of the program will consist of scheduling and referring the individual to institutions and agencies in his home community that will help extend the progress that the person in recovery has made. Churches, out-patient treatment centers and community recovery meetings will be provided to establish a relationship with the participant and help to ensure an aftercare regime.
It must be emphasized that My Brother's Keeper Drug and Alcohol Recovery Program is a faith-based approach that will aid only those who are willing to change. The individual will receive the tools and assistance that he needs to begin a new life, but ultimately the decision to begin a new life resides with him alone.
